What to Intake Before & After a Colonic Enema
The suggested food and drink is the same for the 24 hours before a colonic and the 24 hours after:
- Drink plenty of water – up to 3 liters per day
- Eat High water content foods, including fruits & vegetables
- Eat whole grains (such as oatmeal, quinoa, kamut, amaranth, and brown rice)
- Eat lean protein (such as poultry, buffalo, or fish)
- Take ProBiotics and eat or drink dark leafy greens
- Avoid red meats, breads, pasta, corn, cheese, milk, and soy before and after colonic until bowels get moving again
- Avoid alcohol and smoking for 24-48 hours before and after a colonic
A note about high water content food:
High water content food is food that is high in water and fiber that moves quickly through your intestinal tract. Be sure to consume plenty of high-water content foods for 24-48 hours before and after your colonic enema for best results. Live simple, live clean, and live well!
